Bin
Cleaning Service
There are considerable difficulties and risks attached to recovering materials
that will not flow freely from silos, bins, and hoppers. One of the most
common methods of relieving hang-ups was to send men into the bins to physically
dig out the material. Cave-ins, falls, explosions, and a lack of oxygen were some of the risks associated with this method. More damaging methods have been employed using shotguns and even dynamite. Force Vector coordinates the tools that make these methods obsolete. A regularly planned bin cleaning program can not only prevent minor problems from becoming major ones, but can also prevent contamination and infestation. In the case of unexpected blockages, the equipment can be put to use almost immediately. Let the Force Vector team safely send in the appropriate tools to solve any clearing or cleaning need.
How the Gyro-Whip Works
The
Gyro-Whip is a portable, remote controlled tool that can be lowered into
a storage container. Compressed air powers a variety of whips and cutting edges to knock down the toughest materials without damaging the walls of the storage container. Standard and Mini-Positioning Booms are used to position the Gyro-Whip in all areas of the storage container. The Standard Boom can reach horizontally 21 ft. from the opening and rotate 360 degrees. The Mini-Boom has a 8 ft. reach and can rotate 180 degrees. Both booms have a motor drive which is capable of holding up to 150 ft. of 3/4in. hose (longer lengths are available on request). Both models also feature a Multi Cutting Head, which is capable of accepting non-sparking whips and blades that are used when cutting potentially explosive materials. |
In addition to its ease of assembly,
each system has been designed so that it can be moved easily from one
problem area to the next. The Cutting Head and Gyro-Whip body are constructed of a non-sparking aluminum and mounted on caster wheels to provide lightweight maneuverability. One Gyro-Whip may be used throughout a facility in various shapes and sizes of storage bins, resulting in substantial savings when compared to permanently mounted installations.
Specifications
Both the Gyro-Whip Special and the Gyro-Whip Junior are assembled through
a manhole entrance in the top of the storage vessel. The preferred manhole
size is a minimum of 46cm (18in) square or 48cm (19in) round. The system is supplied as a total package. The customer is only required to supply the compressed air that runs the equiptment. Minimum air requirements are:
